Naval Officers stationed at Pier Hotel,( now George Hotel) Yarmouth, during WWII, included Blanche Dore who married Kennard.As Petty Officers’ Steward, she served food to officers in the Kingshead, helped in the kitchen and bought meat in Ablitts’ butchers’ shop.
