Prizes were presented by Sharon Liddington for the various categories in the Fishing Competition off the Pier from 6.00 to 7.30 p.m.  The early evening’s drizzle cleared up for prize winners to be declared for ‘Heaviest edible fish’ – caught by David Langford, ‘Most number of fish caught’ – John Doe and grand daughter, ‘most handsome fisher’:Simon Hutchinson, ‘youngest fisher’: Ryan Ingram, and ‘most unusual catch’ – a black bream: Sienna Jones.

Carnival 2013 Wednesday August 14th, Fishing Competition. John Doe.and grand daughter Bethany Holloway in Tudor costume, who caught 12 wrasse to win ‘most number caught’.

It was good to see a life jacket being worn by Bethany – unusual in Tudor Times, but sensible today.

Others got on steadily.
