In the early days of WWII,if the Air Raid siren sounded, Pat Burt, nee Adams, and family, living in Kevack, had to run across across the High Street to North House basement to shelter.
Later a Morrison table shelter was delivered. Betty Coates-Evans nee Lock, remembers enjoying playing under their Morrison shelter.
